Enjoy the “bitterness” in tea
Going through the phrase where you experience bitterness, sorrows and happiness that you find peace in your heart, you will find yourself being in calm and steady inner self.Smiling and keeping cool on many things show your strength and essence in your work you are doing.
I am tea lover. Usually I use 1 tea spoon of sugar for my morning tea so not to taste the bitterness of tea. Floral or fruit tea do not require any sugar.
It is very simple analogy in life. Sweetness represent that you have not went through some hard ship or taste the sorrows that you had cried. You are in comfort zone.
When I drink tea without sugar, I was surprised that I am able to drink tea without sugar. I found the great pleasure in drinking tea and able to enjoy its full flavour of tea. I sipped it slowly and enjoy every minute of savouring tea. No bitterness and I found peace and content in drinking tea.
I asked myself if my taste had changed. I do not like to add too much sugar or no sugar to tea these days and love tea very much.
It strike me that I find that my heart is at peace and serene. I realized that I had went through ups and down and this year was pretty bad that I felt very depressed. Starting from March, I begin to bounce back with positiveness and show my own strength.
Slowly I picked up the pieces and moved on. I was surprised to see many things happening that kept my mind occupied. Most of all, I really enjoyed doing things. My team, MYMCA work and other voluntary work. What is the best to come is to take part in triathlon where I do enjoy swimming in sea. Full of challenges that put you in the zone where you find unknown elements to mould yourself and test your courage.
As the day draw closer where I am celebrating myself coming into this world, every breathes I breathe, lessons in my life and feelings being developed over the years had accumulated and make me strong in many ways.
I met up with some tutors from MHI (Wesley Methodist Church’s Tuition centre for deaf) and we touched on the topics on how to have good approach towards deaf children.
I provided feedback based on my experience of tutoring kids and having interacted with deaf people. To add it on, I provided quirky school life stories that motivate tutors.
One of them remarked that from my English command, he knew that it was based on how I interacted with people and on how I have parent upbringings.
I highlighted to him that some deaf people comes from Chinese speaking family. This is one of factor that contribute to the development of the child. Over all, it turned out to be very fruitful discussion.
In my personal opinion, it was very fruitful because I had went through a lot, facing struggles as deaf individual and on how I overcome my fear to explore the unknown land.
It is the journey of self discovery where the person grow with experience.
I use tea as my simple analogy because tea is bitter. When the person drink the tea without sugar, the person had been through bitterness, hard life and with enriched experience that tea will be able to be tasted bitter. The person will find the bitterness in tea which will bring out the flavour of the tea.
I simply enjoy the tea.
Give it a try to drink tea without sugar and you will understand the bitterness of your life when you are down with bad times.
